I’ve loved photography for a very long time. My affection for taking pics started in the 9th grade. After taking a variety of art classes, photography became my hobby. My dad bought me my first digital camera and I TOOK PICTURES OF EVERYTHING. By the time I graduated high school, I had the necessary skills to develop pictures from film in a darkroom or photo lab. (humble brag) Now, I take amazing photos using my two favorite Sony cameras.
“I love photography because I feel there is a true art in capturing a moment. A photo can speak a thousand words, create a mood, or bring you back to a place of nostalgia. A photograph beautifully captures the world in an exact moment, allowing that moment – a moment that can never be lived again – to last an eternity.”

I love Instagram for one reason – it’s an app of pictures! Although I have a love-hate relationship with Instagram’s algorithm, I’m grateful for the relationships I’ve been able to cultivate online. Follow me at @iamvictoriatiffany ❤ Over the years, I’ve collected many social media compliments about how nice my pictures are 🥰 Thank you! I’m so grateful to be able to express my creativity through photography and share it with the world.
My Cameras
Now it’s time to introduce my camera babies. These cameras have allowed me to create content and take amazing photos that I can be proud of. After doing lots of research, Sony Cameras have my heart for many reasons (that I won’t bore you with right now).
Both of my Sony Cameras have wifi capabilities, allowing me to take pictures with my camera and seamlessly transfer them directly to my phone (or any device with the app) through the camera’s own built-in wifi.
I often use the phone-to-camera wifi connection to use my cell phone as a remote control for my camera. This feature allows me to take so many different types of photos, even photos of myself.

My First Camera: Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera
I purchased a Sony a6000 after deciding to take my blogging career seriously in 2016. It was lightweight, easy to use, and very beginner-friendly. I used this camera daily while living in South Korea and have many beautiful photographs from living overseas.
This camera has wif-fi capabilities, allowing you to take pictures from your camera and immediately send them directly to your phone (or any device with the app) through the wi-fi connection. Even though I’ve used this camera every day for the past six years, My Sony a6000 is still snapping great photos and recording videos.
The Sony a6000 is a great beginner’s camera. The 16-50mm kit lens that the camera comes with the camera is a basic zoom lens that takes great shots. You can also take videos with this camera. There has been a more recent release of this version and its name is the Sony a6100.
The Sigma 30mm F1.4 Lens lens that I have paired with my Sony a6000 is a great lens for beginners who want a more professional look to their photos. This lens is not a zoom lens, so you won’t be able to zoom in and out while shooting your photos.
My Current Fave: Sony a7 III Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera
Guys. I CRIED when I purchased this amazing camera and stunning lens for my birthday last year. I finally owned the camera of my dreams! Camera equipment is very expensive and I’ve been wanting this camera for YEARS.
The Sony a7 III is an amazing camera body, it is hands-down the best bang for your buck at that price point. This camera has wiffi capabilities, allowing you to take pictures from your camera and immediately send them directly to your phone (or any device with the app) through the wifi connection.
The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 zooms lens that I have paired with my Sony a7 III camera is a beautiful addition, allowing me to shoot gorgeous close up shots, portraits, and sceneries. This camera body and lens paired together are heavy (around 5 pounds) so take that into consideration if you plan to travel with this camera.
On My Wish List: Sony Alpha 1 ( Release Date: March 2021)
There’s not much I can say about this camera except WOW! The new Sony A1 camera stole my heart the moment knew it existed. If I had a genie in a bottle ready and available to grant me three wishes, I would ask for this.
Take Amazing Pictures
If I had to give a new photographer advice for taking amazing pictures, I would say, “start with what you have. If all you have right now is your phone’s camera to take your pictures, start today anyway. Learn as much as you can about the basics of photography (such as picture formats, sensors, shutter speed, ISO, etc.) Knowing these features will help you to create the type of photography you desire. When you are ready to purchase your camera, watch lots of “camera review videos” on Youtube to help you to purchase a camera you will love. My recommendation for a beginner’s camera? Get the Sony A6100 Camera.
How to Take Amazing Photos
- Use the light to your advantage. If you can, take pictures during the day when there is a lot of natural light. If the sun goes down before you can take your photos, use lamps, LED lights, or these photography lights to shoot in low light settings.
- Create a beautiful scene. To help create a lovely background, use your favorite props to create a scene. I like to use these things such as pillows, candles, books, and flowers to give my photos an “at home” vibe.
- Edit your photos. Use a photo editing app or software to create the mood of your picture by adding filters, adding text, and making the colors pop. My two favorite editing apps are Snapseed and VSCO.
I hope these tips help you take amazing photos! When it becomes to photography, are you an expert or a newbie? What is your favorite camera brand? Let me know!
Until next time!
Sincerely, Victoria
