I’ve been a mom for an entire decade now. At this point, I’ve gotten used to always having to carry some type of purse, backpack, or handbag with me. Every now and then, the girly girl in me pops out and I have to choose a handbag that matches my outfit – even if I am just running a few errands with my curious toddler and moody pre-teens. Purses for moms should be stylish and practical – so those are the type of handbags I like to buy.

I’m not afraid to say it, I own a lot of purses. Some were pricey, most were not. I almost have a purse for every occasion, outfit, season, and holiday. If you are a busy mom who likes to wear nice things while she takes care of her kids – keep reading, this list is for you.
Quality Purses Only
When I’m looking for a new purse, I insist on purchasing quality bags. Keep in mind “quality” doesn’t always mean expensive. In this post when I reference quality, I’m referring to well-made products. Materials such as faux leather, polyester, and canvas bags are better for everyday use because they hold their shape and are easy to clean, while still looking classy. My most used bags are made from these materials and they are all in great condition.
With that being said, here are the 5 staple bags I have in my purse collection:
5 Best Practical (and Stylish) Purses for Busy Moms
- The Family Outing Handbag
- The Grab and Go Purse
- Running a Quick Errand Purse
- Going to Church Handbag
- The Date Night Purse
If you are a mom, I guarantee you already know the purpose of each one of these bags. Here are a few examples of my absolute favorites.
- The Family Outing Handbag – a large bag that can hold a day-trip’s amount of things for our family such as diapers, wipes, snacks, and tablets. I like to use this purse for grocery shopping, day-trips, park outings, and trips to the mall. The pockets on the outside are perfect for water bottles and sippy cups.

This is hands-down my favorite purse right now. Every time I wear it, I receive non-stop compliments. I can dress it up or dress it down. I love this purse so much, I have this backpack in six, YES SIX different colors. Because they are affordable AND amazing, I also gifted a few of these purses for Christmas this year.

2. The Grab and Go Purse – a small to medium size bag that holds my personal items and toddler supplies. My most used type of purse and usually in a “tote bag” style. The brown leather bag in the pictures below is from Ross Dress for Less, and I bought it for $20.

Running a Quick Errand Purse – a small to medium size bag that holds only the necessities such as wallet, keys, and phone
Going to Church Handbag – small, medium, or large and can hold at least your bible and wallet while still looking pretty.

The Date Night Purse – a gorgeous mini size or small bag that holds my phone, lipstick, and wallet. I prefer for my date night bags to have a strap so I don’t have to carry my purse around all night.

And that’s it! I hope you liked my favorite purses for the busy mom collection. Which one was your favorite? Do you prefer a big purse or a small one? Thanks for stopping by my blog. Until next time!
Sincerely, Victoria
